Discord Profile Picture & Avatar Size
Discord displays avatars as circles, so upload a square 1:1 image to prevent bad crops. Recommended upload: 128x128 px minimum; 256x256 or 512x512 px for sharper results. Max file size: 8 MB for static JPG/PNG/GIF and 8 MB for Nitro animated GIF/APNG. Keep the face inside the central 80% safe zone; the outer 10% on each side may be clipped. For pixel-art PFP, set canvas to 512x512, use a solid background, and export PNG at 72–150 DPI. Do not upscale a 128x128 file; start at 512x512 then resize down. Test at 32 px to confirm eyes and mouth remain readable. Server icons: 512x512 px, 1:1, under 8 MB. Use Square Face Generator to align features on a perfect square grid.
TikTok Profile Photo Size
TikTok profile photo: upload at least 200x200 px; 1080x1080 px gives the best quality. Aspect ratio must be 1:1. Max file size is 10 MB; supported formats include JPG, PNG, and GIF. TikTok crops the image into a circle, so keep the face centered within a 1080x1080 square and leave the outer 10% as background. For pixel-art avatars, avoid transparent PNGs because TikTok may show black or white behind them; use a solid color. Steps: create 1080x1080, center the nose at 50% height, export JPG/PNG under 10 MB, upload, then check how it looks at 48 px in comments. Downscale from 1080x1080 to 200x200 for a clean fallback. Use the Square Face Generator's 1:1 export preset.
YouTube Profile Picture Size
YouTube channel avatar: recommended upload 800x800 px, minimum 98x98 px, max 4 MB. Aspect ratio 1:1. YouTube displays it as a circle, so keep key details inside a centered 640x640 px safe area and avoid text near edges. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF (static). For pixel art, export PNG at 800x800 with a solid background; if using transparent PNG, YouTube may show a black or white background depending on theme. Steps: set canvas to 800x800, place face within center 80%, export sRGB under 4 MB, then test at 48 px next to video titles. For a sharper small icon, start at 1024x1024, then resize to 800x800. Square Face Generator can lock the grid to 32x32 or 64x64 pixels.
GitHub Avatar Size
GitHub profile picture: upload a square 1:1 image; recommended 500x500 px, max file size 1 MB. GitHub resizes avatars to 460x460 px and displays them as circles in profile and commit lists. Supported formats: JPG, PNG, GIF. Use a solid background for pixel-art avatars; transparency may render inconsistently in dark/light themes. Steps: create 500x500 px, keep the face inside the central 400x400 px safe zone, export PNG under 1 MB, upload. Test at 20 px in a commit list and 230 px on your profile. If your source is 1024x1024, downscale to 500x500 with nearest-neighbor for crisp pixel edges. The Square Face Generator's "pixel-perfect" export avoids blurry resizing.
Steam Avatar Size
Steam avatar: upload a square 1:1 image, at least 184x184 px. Steam generates small 32x32, medium 64x64, and large 184x184 avatars. Max file size: 1 MB; formats: JPG, PNG, GIF. Keep the face inside the central 80% safe zone because Steam uses the same file for tiny friend-list icons and larger profile views. For pixel-art PFP, export 184x184 PNG with a solid background; if you start at 512x512, downscale to 184x184 using nearest-neighbor. Steps: set canvas 184x184, center eyes at ~45% height, export under 1 MB, upload, then check at 32x32. Animated GIFs may work but can distract at small sizes. Use Square Face Generator to create a symmetrical square avatar before uploading.
